How To Landi Responsibly

Malandi ka ba? Aminin mo na, wala naman masama sa pagiging malandi. Basta landi responsibly.

We’ve all either heard or read of that saying, “landi responsibly.” It has become one of the most relevant sayings of our generation. But what does it truly mean to “landi responsibly” and how exactly do we do that? Here are 5 things you need to remember in order to landi responsibly.

5. Don’t flirt with people who are already in a relationship

I placed this first because this is the most basic rule that you shouldn’t break. It’s a given that you shouldn’t flirt with someone who’s already taken. Don’t be that person. For your sake and the sake of the person’s partner, wag mo na landiin pag alam mong taken na. There are so many fish in the sea, this one isn’t for you. Which brings me to number 2.

4. Don’t flirt with other people if you yourself are already taken

Obviously? Show some respect to your partner. Meron ka na kaya give chance to others! Though, seriously, if you’re in an exclusive relationship don’t flirt with other people. Maybe harmless flirting is fine, but not everyone is comfortable with the fact that their partner is flirty with other people. Would you feel comfortable if your partner was flirting with someone else?

3. Remember A B C D

After Banat Charot Dapat. I know it may sound funny but it actually makes a lot of sense. This saying goes way deeper than you think it does. When you’re flirting with someone just for the sake of flirting, I suggest you keep this acronym in mind. You don’t know if that person you’re flirting with is expecting something more. If you’re just being malandi for the fun of it, after mo bumanat charot dapat. and maybe they’ll know that you’re just playfully flirting. Also good to keep in mind if you’re trying to flirt with someone you like but you aren’t entirely sure if they like you back. But in all honesty, the “C” should stand for commit.

2. Don’t lead people on

Flirting is all fun and games until someone actually starts to catch some feels. You can’t blame them. If a person falls, they fall, it’s natural. But if you lead people on knowing they like you and you know you can’t commit to them, yet you still give them motive, that isn’t right. Don’t ever string someone along and don’t ever leave someone hanging.

1. Put yourself first

Okay, malandi ka nga, but learn to prioritize yourself over whoever you’re flirting with. Do what’s best for you first, focus on your academics or getting your job done before flirting or at least learn to balance your work and your being malandi. You have all the time in the world to flirt, but so little time to chase your deadlines, dreams, passions, career, etc.

In all seriousness though, landi responsibly so that you don’t hurt other people and you don’t end up getting hurt as well. Flirting is fun, but flirt with caution. Remember these 5 things!
