BrainFit: An Innovative School that Will Prepare Your Child for the Future
Raising a kid can be daunting task, especially in the early years when you have to teach them everything about school and their general wellbeing.
I have a 5-year old brother and I took it upon myself to teach him lessons according to their school syllabus. After school, summer classes and co-curricular activities that kept my brother busy, I found out about BrainFit.
I don’t want my little brother to be burnt out with all of the studying he does, but BrainFit is a different kind of school. It’s not just about teaching kids lessons, but also improving their overall performance while having fun.
BrainFit: The Innovative School
BrainFit Studios has been around since 2001 and is dedicated to providing scientific brain training for kids and even adults. Brain fitness basically means that the brain will improve through programs that enhance and strengthen mental fitness.
Brainfit’s CognitiveMAP evaluates a student’s skills through 5 systems; Visual processing, Auditory processing, Sensory-Motor processing, Attention and Memory and Social-Emotional functioning. These systems help BrainFit coaches design a program that suits your little ones perfectly.
Physical activities are important for kids, too. Aside from their constant running and playing, kids needs to improve their physical activities and BrainFit does this through fun exercises.
Reflexes are assessed through ball exercises where kids are asked to bounce-clap-catch a ball for one minute.
My brother loves drawing and writing, and through a tracing exercise, his writing skills were reviewed. They used a vibrating pen with a grip to see how well he could control his hands while trying to trace lines and shapes.
Kids these days are going digital and BrainFit does, too. Kids sit in front of their computers and listen to digital instructions a lot. This test is in the form of a game that will keep them interested.
Kids have short attention spans, too. BrainFit’s program will assess and train a kid’s attention and memory through writing and memory games. It’s a mental exercise, as well. Rylle had to match shapes with certain drawings while being timed.
There is also a combination of mental and physical test through a trampoline. Kids are asked to distinguish colors and directions while jumping on the trampoline.
BrainFit also has standardized tests that will evaluate kids’ brain fitness and identify which of their fitness systems require enhancement. They will then make a special program to address each kid’s needs.
Being fit isn’t just about the physical aspects, but also about the mental aspects. Since it is easier to keep the brain going as early as childhood, BrainFit aims to build children’s brain fitness and push them as they prepare for school and for life.
