Dolly, the half-faced dog and animal welfare ambassador of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has passed away.

On August 13, PAWS shared that Dolly had died peacefully at their shelter.
“During her final moments, she was in the arms of her fur-dad Tej and fur-mom Deb, with her sister Lizzie by her side. Some of our PAWS volunteers also joined through Zoom to say goodbye and remind her of something we have always known: she was the most beautiful girl,” it wrote.
Also known as Dolores, Dolly became a victim of animal cruelty after an individual threw boiling oil at her face. After surviving her injuries, she joined the non-profit organization and became an advocate for animal protection.
Later on, her story helped the organization lobby for the ALAGA Bill, which seeks to strengthen animal protection.
“Dolly did not live to see the ALAGA Bill passed, but her story will remain part of the fight. The proposed measure seeks stronger penalties for animal cruelty, including higher fines and imprisonment for offenders,” it said.
“Thank you for fighting with us, Dolly. Thank you for showing the world that you were never defined by cruelty, but by the love and strength you carried through it,” it added.
PAWS is a non-profit organization in the Philippines that is dedicated to the protection and general welfare of all animals.
