You can whip out your smartphone and try to beat these hipsters:
You can even buy a few pieces of their famous containers at the souvenir shop as a memento of the experience:
Â
Mainly, we came to check out the food, though:
Â
And we must say, there are so many ways that Boracay Toilet can flush your diet if even just for one meal. Here are some of our recommendations:
Â
Boracay Toilet: Starters
Buffalo Wee-Weengs
Â
Â
Savor the very yummy wee-weengs oozing with flavor. It’s the best and highly complemented by the garlic dip. It does not have a horrible sting to it, but is definitely full of flavor up to the last bits of meat.
Â
Ni-Rolyong Gulay
Â
A fusion of Vietnamese spring rolls and Philippine fried lumpia, this is one of the few vegetarian-friendly offerings that the restaurant has at the moment. You can really distinguish the freshness of the ingredients.
Â
Drippy Logs
Â
Â
These cheese sticks won’t get anything nasty or oily stuck in between your fingers but the taste will linger long enough to prepare you for the mains.
Â
Boracay Toilet: Main Meals
Â
Pork Shit-Sig
Â
Â
It’s half tenderloin and half pig’s ear sliced into the tiniest bits which is a bit of a departure from the ordinary sisig. You have to try it because words won’t be enough to give this meal justice. This is Chef Marq’s favorite among the main dishes they are serving, and rightfully so!Â
Â
Lecheng Kawali Yan!
Â
Â
The lechon kawali is a Filipino favorite and it is served here in case you want to get some additional crunching action for your molars.
Â
Kare-KaDire
Â
Â
Far from being kadiri, the Toilet’s Kare-Kare is an absolute must-try. Store manager Mariel tells us that they use actual peanuts and not peanut derivatives for the sauce. (So be careful if you have allergies!) The meat is so soft that you can easily puncture it with your fork with minimal force. You’re really going to remember every single bite of it, too.
Â
Crispy Birdy
Â
This chicken reminds me of Max’s with its crispiness. However, the gravy adds an extra little magical something to it.
Â
Panshit
Â
Â
Orientally inspired, the fried noodles are crunchy even after you pour in the sauce. The sauce has hints of really sweet star anise which will remind you of your favorite pares. You might think that the mix will be confusing, but it’s confusingly good in the right places.
Â
Kal-Diri-ta
Â
We attacked the kaldereta with a half-expectation that it will sting our tongues, but it did not. It is a softer version of the famous Filipino beef dish.Â
Oh, and all their containers have food warmers built-in underneath to keep it fresh as you eat!
Boracay Toilet: The In-Betweens
Â
LBM (Lettuce, Bacon, Mushroom) Burger
Â
I strongly suggest that you order this humungous burger after a whole day of activities because it will really last in your tummy for a looooong time.
Â
Slimy Worms but White
Â
This heaping plate full of carbonara goes so well with the buffalo wings and Da Bomb challenge (just see tip #2 below for details).
Â
Margherita Pee-Za
Â
Â
Â
If you want something light, they are offering something to that effect through their thin crust delights. They also have vegan-friendly choices, like the fried lumpia in the starter list.
