WATCH: Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne’s Crowning Moment

Philippine bet Maureen Montagne has just been crowned as Miss Globe 2021! The beauty queen from Batangas took home the title at Miss Globe 2021’s coronation night at the Opera Theater in Albania. In the pre-pageant competitions, she also placed first runner-up in the People’s Choice, Miss Bikini, and Head to Head Challenge.

The 28-year-old rose above the 50 women who competed at the 48th edition of the Albania-based international beauty pageant. Runners-up were Nigeria’s bet Esther Gabriel, Turkey’s Melike Bali, Venezuela’s Jhosskaren Carrizo Smiler, and Canada’s Hailey Hamelin-Wilson respectively.

Montagne is a successor of Miss Globe 2020 Lorinda Kolgeci, 22, of Kosovo. Philippine candidate Rowena Sasaluya, on the other hand, was the fourth runner-up and won the People’s Choice Award that year. Meanwhile, Ann Lorraine Colis is the last Filipina to win the title in 2015.

Filipino fashion designer Patrick Isorena created Montagne’s intricately-designed “Sampaguita” costume for the National Costume competition.

In an Instagram post, Montagne said that the Sampaguita is considered a symbol of fidelity, purity, devotion, strength, and dedication, which makes it a perfect symbol of a modern Filipina. As for the Evening Gown competition, Montagne strutted in a form-fitting gold gown. Watch her crowning moment at the Miss Globe 2021 in the video below:
