BLACKPINK Lisa just made history at the MTV Video Music Awards.

On September 27 (US Time), Lisa became the first-ever Asian solo artist to win the Best Pop award at the highly esteemed music awards. She bagged the award for her hit single “Dream,” which featured Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi.
For this award, she bested fellow pop stars Ariana Grande, Charli xcx, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Tata McRae, and Taylor Swift. She was also nominated for Best Cinematography and Best K-pop.
In her acceptance speech, the 29-year-old Thai rapper expressed her gratitude to fans for their never-ending support.
“All those late-night dreams brought me here today, so thank you for the inspiration, especially to my Lilies—I wouldn’t be here without you guys,” she said in an emotional and heartfelt speech.
While BTS won Best Pop in 2020 for their song “On,” Lisa is the first-ever Asian and K-pop soloist to receive such recognition.
BLINKs have so much more to look forward to from the superstar! Her documentary “Always Lalisa” will premiere in IMAX and cinemas worldwide starting October 12.
