On August 13, Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast unveiled its script reading of I’m Drunk, I Love You, with Maki and Justin playing the roles of Dio (originally portrayed by Paulo Avelino) and Carson (originally portrayed by Maja Salvador), respectively. Meanwhile, content creator and rising actress Yani portrayed Jason Ty (originally played by Dominic Roco), while actor Benedix Ramos took on the role of Pathy (originally played by Jasmine Curtis-Smith).
The hour-and-a-half-long script reading certainly did not miss, once again bringing audiences into a roller coaster of emotions!
At the same time, the script reading, which was held in June, was part of the events organized by Kamuning Film Club, a monthly gathering for film enthusiasts at Basta Cafe in Quezon City.
Directed by JP Habac, “I’m Drunk, I Love You” follows two college best friends, Dio and Carson, as they embark on a final road trip before graduation. Unknown to Dio, Carson has been harboring feelings for her best friend for seven years.
After its release, the independent romance film developed a cult following due to its honest and relatable portrayal of unrequited love and longing.
In a separate podcast, JP once detailed that the movie was inspired by his real-life experience of falling in love with his best friend.
