While this month’s roster includes roundtable discussions led by award-winning editors, film screenings, and filmmaking workshops that both film enthusiasts and creatives can join, fans were quick to express their excitement over Maki and Justin, who will portray Dio (originally played by Paulo Avelino) and Carson (originally played by Maja Salvador), respectively.
Meanwhile, actor Benedix Ramos will take on the role of Pathy (originally portrayed by Jasmine Curtis-Smith), while content creator and podcaster Yani Villarosa will read the role of Jason Ty (originally played by Dominic Roco).
Directed by JP Habac, I’m Drunk, I Love You follows college best friends Dio and Carson as they embark on a final road trip before graduation. Unbeknownst to Dio, Carson has been harboring feelings for her best friend for seven years.
The independent romance film developed a cult following after its release, thanks to its honest and relatable portrayal of unrequited love and longing, as well as its iconic lines and memorable scenes that continue to resonate with audiences on social media today.
While the date of the script reading featuring two of OPM’s most talked-about stars has yet to be announced, fans are already hoping that Maki and Justin’s take on the beloved film will be livestreamed or uploaded to YouTube through Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast, especially since the Kamuning Film Club event for June has already sold out.
