With so much happening around us, many people tune in to their favorite celebrity couples for a daily dose of happiness, love, and that little spark of wishful thinking that maybe—just maybe—we’ll find romance somewhere down the road.

Unfortunately, there’s no such thing as forever. This 2025, we’ve seen several beloved celebrity couples call it quits. Which begs the question: Does true love even exist in 2025? 

Here’s the list of celebrities who broke up this year:

Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto

Netizens welcomed 2025 with a shocking breakup announcement from Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto, who parted ways after seven years together.

Barbie confirmed the split in a heartfelt Instagram post, where she expressed gratitude to Jak for the exceptional love he had given her throughout their relationship.

“Having you in my life was the happiest I had ever been. Seven wonderful years. A lot of laughs, a lot of ramen, and so much love,” she wrote. “But sometimes, good things fall apart so better things can come together.

“Thank you for loving me the way you did. I am excited for what’s to come for the both of us. You take care of yourself. May you find the love you deserve,” she added.

Known to fans as the beloved love team JakBie, the two began dating in 2017 and starred together in the television series “Meant To Be” and “KaraMia.”

Catriona Gray and Sam Milby

In February, Sam Milby confirmed that he and Catriona Gray have officially broken up, ending year-long speculations about their split.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Sam affirmed that everything was “okay” between him and the Miss Universe 2018 titleholder, and that there was no third party involved in their split.

“There was never a third party sa amin ni Cat. That needs to be cleared. There is no truth to it at all,” he said.

Kyline Alcantara and Kobe Paras

After confirming their relationship in November 2024, Kyline Alcantara and Kobe Paras became the subject of breakup rumors in April after fans noticed that they had unfollowed each other on Instagram.

As the speculation continued to surround Kyline, Sparkle GMA Artist Center eventually addressed the split through an official statement.

“Kyline would like to move on with this issue. She has chosen to keep her peace and maintain the respect for the people who have been part of her life. She hopes we can all move on and put this issue to rest,” the statement read.

Mikee Quintos and Paul Salas

After confirming their relationship in 2022, Mikee Quintos and Paul Salas have decided to part ways.

In an interview on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Mikee confirmed that their breakup was mutual and and there was no third party involved.

“Ngayon, nagiging clear sa amin na ito nga ‘yung tama for us. Mutual naman na decision ‘to and bata pa kami (Now, it’s becoming clear to us that this is the right thing for us. It’s a mutual decision and we’re still young),” she said.

Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon

Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon have officially confirmed that they have gone their separate ways.

In an Instagram Reel, Elisse shared that their relationship has come to an end.

“My biggest dream in life has always been to build a family I could call mine… We made that promise..to love, to fight, to stay. And truthfully, we both tried. We both held on for as long as we could,” she wrote.

“Letting go doesn’t mean we failed. Because what we had was real. And it gave us the greatest gift,” she added.

Previously, they met as housemates on “Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7,” where they developed romantic feelings for each other and eventually became real-life partners.

They first broke up in 2018 after going through a rough patch. However, the two reconciled and got back together before March 2020. In 2021, they welcomed their first daughter.

Heaven Peralejo and Marco Gallo

After hard launching their relationship in November 2024, Heaven Peralejo and Marco Gallo called their relationship quits.

In an interview with entertainment journalist MJ Marfori, Heaven shared that their split was a “mutual decision” and asked the fans’ understanding as they both pursue different paths.

“Before naman naging kami (Before we got together), we were good friends, and so ‘yun ‘yung foundation namin (that was our foundation),” she said.

Klea Pineda and Katrice Kierulf

Klea Pineda officially confirmed that her relationship with model Katrice Kierulf has officially ended in July 2025.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Klea expressed her gratitude to Katrice for the love and support she gave throughout their three-year relationship.

“Nilaban naman namin hanggat sa makakaya namin, sinubukan naman namin ayusin. Tumatanda na tayo at may mga bagay na mas kailangan unahin o bigyan ng pansin. (We fought for it for as long as we could. We really tried to fix things. We’re getting older, and there are things that we need to prioritize or give more attention to),” she wrote.

In an interview, the 26-year-old actress dismissed there was a third party involved in her breakup with Katrice.

“Oh yeah, of course, I’m aware sa nangyayari but sinasabi ko, ako na nagsasabi mismo sa inyo na walang third party na nangyari (I’m aware of what’s happening, but I’m telling you myself that there was no third party involved),” she said.

Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson

After breakup rumors continue to hound Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson, their respective agencies Star Magic and Viva Artists Agency (VAA) issued sepearate statements that confirm their split.

“Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson have mutually and amicably parted ways for some time now,” VAA wrote, adding that the speculations regarding the reason for their breakup were “unfounded” and “baseless.”

Similarly, Star Magic asked the public to “respect their decision and refrain from spreading false narratives.”

Julia and Gerald went public with their relationship in March 2021—two years after both denied speculation that the actress had anything to do with his breakup with Bea Alonzo in 2019.

Chie Filomeno and Jake Cuenca

Jake Cuenca finally addressed the breakup rumors involving him and actress Chie Filomeno.

In an ambush interview with ABS-CBN, Jake clarified that there was no formal breakup between them and expressed his wishes for her happiness.

“I can at least say that I really loved that person deeply… For me, kapag mahal mo naman talaga ang isang tao, you wish them all the happiness in the world, and you want them to be happy. You want them to be loved as well,” he said.

He added, “There wasn’t a breakup… Hindi wala na lang. Like what I’ve said, I loved that person deeply, diba. Hindi wala lang ‘yun… But that chapter is over now, and I’ve accepted it.”

Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay

In November 2025, Ellen Adarna shocked netizens when she alleged that her husband, Derek Ramsay, was involved with another woman.

In a series of Instagram stories, Ellen revealed that Derek was messaging another woman just days after they officially became a couple in February 2021.

“The audacity. Wow. The Audacity era. Wow. Sad boi era. Wow. Victim. Wow. Sympathy fishing #manchild,” she wrote.

“Yes, we’re not married at the time yet, [but] if he was able to do that in our honeymoon stage, how much more [in] three months, six months, a year… God knows, right?” she said in another Instagram story.
