Jake Cuenca addressed the breakup rumors involving actress Chie Filomeno.

In an ambush interview with ABS-CBN, Jake said that he was doing “good” following breakup rumors circulating on social media. However, he said that his chapter with the actress has come to an end.
“Yeah, I’m good at least, parang it’s a lot to take. Ang dami nangyayari, ang daming sinasabi ng mga tao. I can officially say that chapter of my life is over now,” he said.
“I can at least say that I really loved that person deeply… For me, kapag mahal mo naman talaga ang isang tao, you wish them all the happiness in the world, and you want them to be happy. You want them to be loved as well,” he added.
He also revealed that there was no breakup between them.
“There wasn’t a breakup,” he shared. “Hindi wala na lang. Like what I’ve said, I loved that person deeply, diba. Hindi wala lang ‘yun… But that chapter is over now, and I’ve accepted it.”
Both figures publicly confirmed their dating status in 2023. However, in late September, eagle-eyed netizens noticed that they were no longer following each other on Instagram.
As rumors intensified, the 29-year-old actress appealed for privacy from social media users linking her to Cebuano businessman Matthew Lhuillier.
“I’ve been reading and hearing a lot these past few days and I ask that my past relationship, my present life, and the Lhuillier family be left out of this issue,” she wrote on Instagram. “They don’t deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing to do with them. No further statements will be made at this time, and I kindly ask that people refrain from speculation or intrusions into my private affairs.”
“I may be a public figure, but I am not public property. I ask that my private life remain private.”
