“Drag Race Philippines” Star Misua Passes Away at 27

Jason Elvie Ty, widely known by her stage name Misua, has passed away. She was only 27 years old.

On April 3, World of Wonder confirmed that the drag queen passed away in her sleep the morning of April 2. She was set to appear as a contestant in the much-awaited fourth season of “Drag Race Philippines.”

“She brought light, artistry, and joy to those around her, and she will be deeply missed,” World of Wonder said in a statement.

Following her passing, the production for the upcoming season has been temporarily paused.

“We have paused production to care for and support our cast and crew during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who loved her,” it wrote.

“We are in contact with her family who have asked for privacy during this hard time,” it added.

Misua, a talented and rising drag queen from Cagayan de Oro, worked as a graphic designer. Her last Instagram post was on February 17, where she uploaded a set of stunning photos in celebration of Chinese New Year.
