Veteran actress and comedienne Vangie Labalan has passed away in Australia after being admitted to a hospital due to illness. She was 83 years old.

The news of her death was announced by her son, Carlo.
“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Vangie Labalan (Ma. Christina Bonghanoy Labalan). She passed away today in Australia due to illness, surrounded by those dearest and nearest to her heart. Her memories will forever remain in our hearts,” he wrote.
“To everyone who know her, love her, and was touched by her kindness, we extend our deepest gratitude. She is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched,” he added.
Further details about her wake and funeral service are yet to be announced.
“Thank you for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time,” the post concluded.
Her last acting performances in television include “Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan” and “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” while her last acting stint in film was in “Mallari.”
