The Burger Index: Comparing Metro Manila’s Burgers by Price

Shake Shack’s recent announcements really shook (pun intended) burger lovers to their core. The release of their opening date and planned menu opened up the conversation of burgers in the metro, and how they would compare to this famed chain. You can read our thoughts on Shake Shack here, but unfortunately we can’t definitively decide how they match up against burger chains in terms of quality.

We can, however, help you out by showing you how the chains measure up against each other by price. A post going around Facebook recently made this super helpful table that lists out some of Metro Manila’s most popular burger chains. Prices of 3 different kinds of burgers from each chain are detailed. The table includes Primo’s Burger, Shake Shack, 8Cuts Burger Blends, The Beef, Sweet Ecstasy, Burger King, and McDonald’s.

The first kind, a regular hamburger, has the cheapest one from Primo’s Burger at Php 199 while the most expensive is from The Beef at Php 295. The next kind, a cheeseburger, finds its cheapest version in McDonald’s at Php 116 with the most expensive in The Beef at Php 325. Lastly, the deluxe burger is cheapest in McDonald’s again at Php 149 with the priciest coming from Shake Shack at Php 545.

Of course, this is just a comparison of prices and doesn’t necessarily say anything about value for money. Most likely, that would be dependent on your personal preference.
