After it was announced that Ted Failon will be leaving ABS-CBN after 30 years, he has signed a contract to develop a new radio program for TV5’s radio network News5.
He will be joined by DJ Chacha, his co-host in Failon Ngayon and a DJ at MOR 101.9.

Failon and DJ Chacha signed their contracts on September 11.
According to a report by Manila Bulletin, the two will host a morning news magazine program. Failon told Bulletin, “We are thankful Radyo 5 will give us the opportunity to serve the people with this one-of-a- kind format.”
It will start airing on October 5.
Failon’s departure from ABS-CBN was announced last month with a statement from the network. According to ABS-CBN, “The closure of ABS-CBN’s radio broadcast operations led to his painful decision and we respect it. We admire Ted’s talent, passion, and commitment to radio as his most effective medium in serving the Filipino people.”

The anchor also spoke about his departure in a statement. He said, “Magmula po noong ako’y tinanggap sa ABS-CBN noong pong June 1990, utang ko po sa ABS-CBN kung sino ako ngayon. Napakalalim at personal po ang aming pinagsamahan. Alam po ni Mr. Gabby Lopez that radio is my passion, at alam din po ito ng aming napakabait na boss na si Ma’am Ging Reyes.”
Apart from the radio show, Failon will also have a public affairs program on TV5.
