Ted Failon Leaves ABS-CBN After 30 Years, Here’s What the Network Has to Say

Ted Failon, who has been with ABS-CBN for 30 years, is leaving the network.

He is the latest to leave ABS-CBN after the network was forced to close because it was denied a franchise.

ABS-CBN announced Failon’s departure on Instagram, saying, “Multi-awarded broadcast journalist Ted Failon is leaving ABS-CBN after 30 years. He will make his final appearance on TV Patrol and Failon Ngayon sa TeleRadyo on August 31.”

It added, “The closure of ABS-CBN’s radio broadcast operations led to his painful decision and we respect it. We admire Ted’s talent, passion, and commitment to radio as his most effective medium in serving the Filipino people.”

The statement ended with, “We thank Ted for his many years of dedication and service as a Kapamilya broadcast journalist. He will always be a Kapamilya. We wish him well on his journey.”

Even some of Star Magic’s stars are also departing the network to look for other opportunities. Johnny Manahan, Star Magic’s manager, told Rappler that they are in talks with TV5 and GMA to discuss career opportunities for their talents. They are also in talks with their artists to guide them in their next career move.
