Korean actor Song Kang delighted Filipino fans on March 5, 2023, at the Araneta Coliseum during the Fun Meet presented by Deoproce Philippines.
Hosted by Sam Oh, fans were treated to a thrilling program that started with performances by P-pop groups G22 and VXON.
Two rounds of games were also done before the K-drama star appeared, including a trivia game that tested the fans’ knowledge. When the “Son of Netflix” finally appeared on stage, he did not shy away from making cute poses that made the audience scream with joy. Many of these die-hard fans came from far and wide, with one group even flying in from Thailand to see him!

Kang Close and Personal
Sam Oh interviewed the 28-year-old actor who shared that he was able to try Jollibee during his stay in Manila. When asked about his career, he opened up and said that watching the film Titanic was what inspired him to pursue acting; his most challenging role yet was playing Cha Hyun-Su in Sweet Home.
As for his fitness routine and diet, he likes eating chicken breast and doing weight training but he has also done various sports like kendo, tennis, and Pilates. Song Kang was also asked about his glowing skin, which he attributes to Deoproce products. His regimen involves using a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer to soothe his dry skin.
He Kang Do It
Song Kang spun a digital roulette filled with different fun tasks for him to do. He created a morning greeting fans recorded on their phones, stared at the audience camera for 10 seconds, said popular lines from Nevertheless and Love Alarm, and took a polaroid selfie a lucky winner took home!

Audience members were randomly selected to come up to the center aisle and teach Song Kang a few Filipino phrases such as “Magandang umaga,” “Kumain na tayo,” and “Gusto kong bumalik!”

Various photos and videos were flashed for Song Kang to comment on. When childhood photos were shown, he described his young self as naughty but said he outgrew it when he started school. An old mukbang video from his recent professional years also appeared, to which he shared that his comfort food used to be tonkatsu but now he tries to eat more vegetables. A clip of him practicing ballet (his training spanned 3 months) was also shown, so he also delighted fans with a little dancing on stage!
Kang You Wear It
Song Kang designed a plain white t-shirt for a lucky fan to take home. He painted a butterfly (a reference to his series Nevertheless) and bejeweled it with stickers, placing the words “I LOVE U” underneath the design.
Kang I Call You
The audience was asked to dial a mobile number which would be picked up by Song Kang right on stage. A few people got to talk to him on the phone and asked questions. When asked for advice for people chasing their dreams, he suggests relentlessly trying different things until you discover what you really like.
To end the program, a video created by a group of Filipino fans was presented. It was filled with heartwarming messages and greetings from Song Kang fans from around the world, which brought the actor to tears. He shared that he did not expect to cry and was surprised by himself. He made his parting remarks by saying how honored and grateful he is for all of them. To commemorate the event, the crowd was asked to put up their banners for a group selfie with the actor that was showered with confetti.
