In her latest update, posted on Facebook on June 14, Myrtle shared that she visited multiple locations in hopes of retrieving her phone, but to no avail.
“My phone got stolen during Toycon, and apparently, the person doesn’t want the ₱30,000 reward anymore… they are asking for more,” she wrote.
After trying to track her phone across multiple locations, the cosplayer shared that someone eventually responded after she contacted the number. Thinking she would finally get her phone back, she soon realized it would not be that easy.
She alleged that the goal was no longer to return her phone, but rather to demand a larger sum of money.
“I can’t share everything yet because we’re still hoping to continue communicating with the person who currently has the phone. But let’s just say… it doesn’t feel like the goal is simply returning the phone anymore. Right now, it feels like the goal is to get more money,” she said.
She added, “Hopefully I’m wrong. Hopefully they still choose to do the right thing. Kasi as I mentioned kahapon sa post. If they genuinely wanted to return it, I have no ill emotions and open ako to give the reward.”
In the same Facebook post, she also shared that another cosplayer from Indonesia has also lost her phone.
On June 13, the actress told her followers that her phone had gone missing during an event and pleaded for its return, offering a P30,000 reward in exchange.
She said the phone contains important files and videos related to her work, cosplay footage, gameplay recording, as well as years of personal memories.
“Please po. As long as maibalik ninyo ito, ibibigay ko po ang reward at hindi na po ako magtatanong pa,” she wrote.
