This Story Shows How Alodia Gosiengfiao Helped a Small Business Owner Cover Her Hospital Bills

Sometimes, the biggest impact comes from something as simple as a repost. In a Threads post, user @jeantheplatypus shared how cosplayer and content creator Alodia Gosiengfiao played a role in helping her get through one of the most difficult periods of her life—back in 2020, at the height of the pandemic.

“I was a single mother back in 2020. I was pregnant, I quit my job, it was a pandemic, and I had no source of income,” she wrote. “I didn’t even know how I was going to survive.”

With ₱20,000 saved from her last job, she decided to try building something on her own instead of asking for help. She began making handmade accessories and slowly found her first few customers.

On a whim, she also reached out to Alodia on Instagram to send her a gift—without expecting anything in return.

“I never expected her to actually promote my products,” she shared.

But according to her post, Alodia ended up featuring the accessories multiple times on her social media platforms, including posts and livestreams. The added visibility helped bring more attention to the small business, leading to more orders.

At one point, Alodia was also seen wearing the handmade earrings during her engagement, which further boosted exposure.

The increase in customers made a difference during a critical time.

“I was able to save enough for my hospital bills and the first few months of expenses for my daughter,” Jean said.

She has since stopped making accessories after giving birth due to time constraints, but the experience left a lasting impression.

The story also highlights how small acts of support, especially for small businesses, can go a long way.
