You might be wondering, what exactly is the difference between Korean Samgyupsal and Japanese Yakiniku? First the “banchan” or side dishes, K-BBQs often have more variety of sides than Yakiniku. Second is the meat, K-BBQ is often served marinated while Yakiniku is often not. Lastly, the way of eating, in K-BBQ we wrap the meat in lettuce together with our option of sides, while Yakiniku is often eaten as is with different sauces for dipping available.
