Kris Aquino just welcomed her sons Josh and Bimby back in Los Angeles, California! The Queen of All Media shared their heartwarming reunion on Instagram Sunday, July 2 (PH time).
The post consists of a series of photos and a video of them meeting at the airport. In the caption, Aquino recalled how his sons decided to come together in detail. She wrote, “It was on June 24 (LA time, making it Sunday, June 25 in the PH (PH is 15 hours ahead of LA) when I told Bimb [that] the deep bone pain I felt in my joints and lower back was getting worse.”
June 24 also marked the second death anniversary of her brother, former President Benigno Aquino III. Kris was supposed to send out ‘thank you’ notes in line with the commemoration of her kuya, but she couldn’t proceed because it pained her to remember how her kuya had always disliked it when the three of them were apart.
She continued, “Walking was becoming harder because of my swollen right knee, and I needed him to please come back earlier.” She also asked Josh if he wanted to come and when Josh said he, indeed, wanted to join his brother, Kris asked him “SURE KA NA BA?” “SURE NA,” Josh responded.
Josh and Bimby had been staying with Kris in LA while receiving treatment for five autoimmune conditions before they traveled to the Philippines in early June to spend time with family and friends. However, the former TV host/actress is in need of her family’s support. “I wanted for Bimb to experience normal teenage life and Kuya’s happy place is Alto, our family compound in Tarlac… pero mahirap mag chemotherapy medication as part of my immunosuppressant therapy without the support system of family,” she explained.
Additionally, she mentioned that her sons were her source of strength. “Kuya & Bimb are my living reminders to not give up because they still need a healthier mama. ‘Pag mahal mo, hinding hindi ka susuko, itutuloy ang LABAN,” Kris stated.
“Tonight I’ll sleep [habang naka-]siksik in between my 2 giants. Muling nabuo kaming 3. Thank you, God, for making me a very happy mama,” she concluded.
