In this day and age, stress levels are growing higher by the minute. Busy bees, buzzing around the metro like there’s no tomorrow! Now that summer’s around the corner, how do we battle the heat and stress? Don’t fret! There’s a newly opened studio in the heart of the central business district called YogaHive. YogaHive recently celebrated its grand launch last March 15-19, 2017.
Fan of the Saturday Market? The location of YogaHive is right across the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village. It is also a walking distance to EchoStore, where you can buy more organic products to complement your yoga practice. Location, check!
Upon entering the YogaHive, the interiors of the studio are welcoming. Combined with calming colors, the wooden chairs, and bunk beds would make you want to hangout before AND after class.
What if you’re too shy to join a class? According to YogaHive, the name itself represents wellness, community, and lifestyle. Just like the bumblebees going into the hive, the community congregates at YogaHive to nourish themselves and cultivate a family. So, why don’t you bring your friends or your special someone? Or you could just go and meet new friends!
No need to bring your yoga mats; these are provided and regularly cleaned by YogaHive as well. They also have clean, organized locker and shower rooms which you can use too–free of charge!
YogaHive offers different classes suitable for all bodies, ages, and abilities. The WhenInManila team was able to try Easy Vinyasa led by Teacher Ana, BROga led by Teacher Paolo, and the Intermediate Pole class led by Teacher Noreen.
Easy Vinyasa is suitable for all levels. This kind of yoga focuses on restful, calming classes including breathing, gentle flowing movements, passive and supported poses. This is a perfect beginning yoga class that is also appropriate for those working with injury and limited mobility.
Still think Yoga is JUST for girls?
YogaHive offers BROga, a yoga class which offers men a yoga-based fitness program that centers on coping with daily stresses and demands.
And, in partnership with Beast Pole and Aerial Studio, YogaHive also offers beginner and intermediate pole classes.
For the beginner classes, you will learn the fundamentals of pole dance and fitness with basic spins, tricks and combos. You do NOT need pole experience. Soon, they will also be offering hoops! So, watch out for that too!
Watch the video below and see how much fun we had in YogaHive. It was an awesome experience that was exciting and calming at the same time! Join us in being converted “busy bees,” and head to YogaHive!
Can’t get enough of your practice inside the studio? YogaHive offers events such as Yogascapes: A weekend of yoga, surf and adventure, which will happen on April 29 to May 21, 2017. The facilitators will be Paulo Leonido and Ghia Nabong.
