Unilab Marks 80 Years with Strengthened Watsons Partnership

The ShareTheAlaga program is more than just an ad campaign. It’s a way to celebrate Unilab’s 80th birthday and show that both Unilab and Watsons want to help Filipinos feel better every day. They both believe that any act of “alaga,” meaning care, no matter how big or small, can make a real difference in people’s lives.

Mr. Backy Baquiran, who leads Unilab, said that for 80 years, Unilab has been focused on helping Filipinos. He explained that this means more than just making medicines; it’s about giving “Alagang Unilab”—Unilab’s special care—to every Filipino so they can live healthier and happier lives. He added that Unilab is known for its strong efforts (Husay), its true care for people (Malasakit), and its spirit of working together (Bayanihan).

Working with Watsons, the biggest health and beauty store in the Philippines, ShareTheAlaga is now happening in thousands of stores and online. This means Unilab and Watsons want to make sure you feel cared for every time you interact with them. This could be through a pharmacist giving good advice, a beauty helper making you feel special, or online deals that save you money.

In the next few weeks, look for these special “Alaga” deals only at Watsons:

  • All-Out Alaga Day: Get ₱80 off when you spend ₱500, plus 80 Watsons points.
  • Watsons Club Exclusive: 80 people across the country will win ₱8,000.
  • Raffle contests and special bundles with popular brands like Myra, Enervon, and Celeteque.

Ms. Joweeh Liao from Watsons Philippines said that because of this partnership, they can give shoppers what’s most important: good health products, trusted wellness items, and excellent service in stores and online. She added that their goal has always been the same: to meet customers’ health needs and give them the “ALAGA” they truly deserve. She also mentioned that this program is making “alaga” even more meaningful, helping people “look good, do good, and feel great.”

Mr. Melo Villaroman from Unilab hopes that as this program is shared, ShareTheAlaga becomes more than just an idea. He hopes it becomes a movement that shows why Unilab exists: because caring isn’t just something they do, it’s who they are.

Many important people from both Unilab and Watsons were at the launch event to talk about the program. This included Mr. Backy Baquiran, the head of Unilab, and Ms. Joweeh Liao, a top leader from Watsons Philippines, along with other key team members from both companies. They all showed strong support for the ShareTheAlaga program.
