If you still think of shopping malls as sterile, fluorescent-lit boxes with endless rows of clothing racks, HAUS NOWHERE Seoul is here to completely shatter that reality.
Opened in September 2025 in the trendy, industrial-chic neighborhood of Seongsu-dong, often dubbed the “Brooklyn of Seoul“, this towering 14-story retail monument isn’t really a store at all. It is a multi-sensory, sci-fi-infused playground where consumerism meets high-concept performance art.

The most viral, jaw-dropping highlight of Haus Nowhere Seoul is a colossal installation named “Sunshine.” Far from a traditional mannequin, Sunshine is an enormous, hyper-realistic, armored dachshund that appears to be gently sleeping in the middle of the space.

The magic of Sunshine lies entirely in its lifelike details. If you stand quietly beside it, you will notice its ears subtly twitching and its chest slowly rising and falling with convincing breathing patterns. Designed to evoke a sense of cognitive dissonance, feeling slightly too real yet impossibly large, it compels us to pause, reflect, and lose track of time.
As a whole, Haus Nowhere Seoul is designed by renowned architect Chanjoong Kim of THE_SYSTEM_LAB, the physical building stands as an architectural marvel on the Seongsu skyline. The exterior features heavy, raw concrete walls that convey a brutalist presence, paired with curved, tinted windows that give it the silhouette of a futuristic spacecraft docked in Seoul.

Inside, the structure offers a vertical journey where raw concrete gradually gives way to polished, fluid surfaces, kinetic installations, and carefully controlled gradients of light and shadow. Rather than treating floors as simple retail zones, the designers crafted each level as a distinct, immersive micro-world.
