When in Manila, or anywhere else, a girl has got to have her essentials in a convenient carry all. Enter Sacola.
“Sacola is a fashion and design label created by childhood friends Chay Lazaro and Ria Hermoso in July 2014. Chay is a graphic designer and illustrator who has been running her own online store on Society6.com since 2011. But the products there are very limited and they figured the designs could cater to a larger market if they were made into chic, stylish bags and accessories with the right materials – pieces that they themselves would want to own and use.”
Here are 5 reasons why I just love this brand:
1. They have cute and unique prints!
Sacola’s Chay Lazaro tells us that their “constant thirst for travel is what inspires the Wanderlust collection. Each design illustrates our own dream destinations, which we know we share with a whole lot of other people.”

2. Their versatile designs suit your every mood.
Sacola’s new collection, “Day to Night”, features reversible totes and clutches. Â Perfect for any occasion!

3. These bags are amazingly spacious, you can fit (literally) everything in them.
The Wanderlust bags are able to fit my 13″ Macbook pro, school notes, and all my girly stuff. Their Weekender bags, perfect for travel, will suffice for whatever trips you plan. Even the envelope clutches can surprisingly carry a lot, too!

4. They have so many designs to choose from!

5. I support homegrown businesses and local artists.
The brand is the brainchild of  Chay Lazaro and Ria Hermoso.  For the initial Wanderlust collection, they “picked each city’s most iconic landmarks and they illustrated them, which then is printed onto canvas. They also “personally source the materials from our local suppliers and have them made into the bags that they are now.”

Expect Sacola in bazaars this holiday season with even more styles and designs. They also have a partnership with an NGO coming up to promote local heritage.
