As spearheaded by the official events and media production organization of the University of Santo Tomas (UST), TOMCAT-UST, the first ever media-focused congress in UST will be happening this May 5, 2018, 10:00 am at the Central Laboratory Auditorium.
With its title, Media as Authors of eXperience, the event will be centered on the use of digital media by the youth and its effects on the modern society. It aims to develop and explore every media user or producer’s ability of creativity and sophistication, guiding them in being significant and substantial in utilizing media.
Five prominent media professionals make their way to UST to enlighten the crowd about the role of digital media and mass communication in today’s generation.
The top-notch roster includes Mr. JP Habac, who is known for his feature film “I’m Drunk, I Love You,” with the topic of conceptualization of ideas. Delving deeper into the role of social media in social transformation, the audience will be hearing from Mr. Ramon Bautista, an internet star, actor, TV host, comedian, and a film producer, and Dr.
Gia Sison who is currently a doctor of Occupational Medicine and a social media influencer/activist for mental health. Another would be the current Chief Operations Officer of WhenInManila.com, Ms. Sky Gavin, who will be talking about digital media virality. Completing the five speakers is TV Host, actress, singer and vlogger, Ms. Alex Gonzaga who will show us the ropes on vlogging as the new age of storytelling.
The event will be open for both Thomasians and non-Thomasians. Get ready to experience media like you never did before, only at MAX!
