Global warming is now a critical planetary emergency. According to the World Meteorological Organization, the Earth’s climate is more out of balance than at any time in recorded history, bringing severe heatwaves and wild weather across the globe.

To help fight this reality, the fifth Vermosa Green Run on June 28, 2026, is turning fitness into climate action. The event aims to protect our environment and support animal welfare, proving that healthy living requires a healthy planet.
Lani Tan, General Manager of Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub and an athlete herself, wants runners to know that saving the planet starts with easy daily choices. She notes that simple habits like carrying reusable bottles, segregating trash, and picking up litter along the route can easily fit into any runner’s normal training routine.
To prove it, participants are asked to turn over used plastic bottles when they register. In fact, this year’s race singlets, finisher shirts, and dog bandanas are made entirely from recycled PET bottles, transforming plastic waste into premium sportswear.
For Tan, crossing the finish line is just the beginning. The true goal is for runners to take these eco-friendly habits home, inspiring a permanent shift toward mindful living in their own neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces.
Held in the lush, green spaces of Vermosa Estates in Imus, Cavite, the event welcomes all fitness levels with 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K tracks. There is even a special 1K Dog Run to champion our furry friends.
The race proudly supports the Haribon Foundation, Takbo Kabitenyo, and the Pawssion Project. It is backed by a great lineup of sponsors, including Pocari Sweat, Merrell, Fitbar, and Salonpas, among many others.
