This New Dining Spot in BGC Lets Book Lovers Eat, Sip, and Read

A new homegrown dining concept that brings together the pleasures of reading and dining has opened its doors in one of the country’s largest bookstores. Located inside the four-story Fully Booked flagship store in Bonifacio High Street, Book & Cook aims to blend two worlds people love to savor slowly: good reads and comforting food.

Helmed by a Michelin-trained French chef, Book & Cook’s menu centers on comforting dishes suited for a relaxed bookstore setting. Guests can enjoy buttery croissants, handmade pastas, and craft drinks to sip and savor—inside a space where they can dive into the pages of a scrumptious story.

“We thought of food you’d enjoy while reading or talking with friends about a book you’re excited about,” says French chef Edouard Guillaud-Rollin, who developed the Book & Cook concept with the vision of making authentic French pastries and fresh, wholesome meals approachable to everyone.

For a light yet satisfying bite, diners can try the tomato soup paired with a spinach-and-artichoke melt. Heartier options include truffle mushroom ravioli and beef stroganoff with herbed rice. Classic French desserts and carefully crafted drinks—from specialty coffee to refreshing mocktails—round out the menu.

“Many of our patrons say they can spend all day at Fully Booked, and we’re very happy with that feedback,” said Jaime Daez, managing director of Fully Booked. “Even though readers can forget the world while browsing books, some are bound to get hungry after exploring rows and rows of shelves, so we welcome Book & Cook as another way to delight our customers.”

Guillaud-Rollin hails from Burgundy, France, and spent eight years at Hôtel de la Poste, where the restaurant earned its first Michelin star during his tenure—a distinction it still holds today. A twist of fate brought him to the Philippines in 2020, when the ECQ lockdown left him temporarily based in Manila. Since then, he has made the city his home and is now also the co-founder of Amelia Bistro & Patisserie in BF Homes, Parañaque.

Asked how books influenced his journey as a chef, Guillaud-Rollin shared that reading sparked his early love for cooking.

“I’ve loved books since I was a kid. In fact, a book inspired me to become a chef,” says Guillaud-Rollin, who grew up reading lots of manga and manhwa. “I especially love Cooking Master Boy. I read it when I was a young boy living in China, and I was so fascinated that I knew I wanted to work in the kitchen someday.”

Book & Cook also offers a unique experience: guests can browse curated books and advance reading copies (ARCs) while dining, making the experience feel like a natural extension of the bookstore. The space offers varied seating options—from a six-seater nook and square tables that can seat two or four, to casual bar seating.

With its thoughtful menu and unique setting inside a beloved bookstore, Book & Cook provides a place where guests can relax, unwind, and celebrate books.

Book & Cook opened in March 2026. It is located on the 3rd floor of Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street, Taguig. Open Sunday to Thursday, 11 AM to 9 PM; Friday to Saturday, 11 AM to 10 PM. For reservations, contact BHS@bookcook.ph or 0917-107-7384.
