If you love zines, independent culture, music, publishing, or simply meeting creative people, here’s an event worth checking out.
Seoul-based cultural studio SUPERSONIC STUDIO will host a Zine Launch Talk & Networking event on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at The Independent Print Club (IPC), a new creative space by Spacebar Zine at One Bangkok.
The event celebrates the arrival of SUPERSONIC STUDIO’s publications at both Spacebar Zine and The Independent Print Club.
Founded in 2016, Spacebar Zine is a Bangkok-based independent publisher and boutique dedicated to print media and visual storytelling. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Spacebar Zine recently launched The Independent Print Club (IPC) at One Bangkok as a new platform for “New Print Culture,” bringing together a retail space, gallery, mini library, and workshops for independent publishing.
Hosted in collaboration with Spacebar Zine and IPC, the talk will introduce SUPERSONIC STUDIO’s work in zine-making, independent music, self-publishing, and cultural exchange across Asia.
Founded by Joohee Maeng and Yeongjin Kim, SUPERSONIC STUDIO is a Seoul-based cultural studio rooted in the independent music scene. The studio creates zines, artist interviews, live events, workshops, talks, and cultural programs that connect artists, audiences, and local creative communities across Asia.
At this event, SUPERSONIC STUDIO will share stories behind its publishing practice and introduce a selection of zines created with independent musicians and artists from Korea and across Asia.
Featured works include Totally Biased Guide to Korean Indie Music, a fold-out guide exploring Korean independent music through venues, festivals, record shops, and personal recommendations; Not So Serious Interview Zine, a collaborative interview zine series created with indie musicians including Phum Viphurit and wadfah through artist-specific questions, handwritten answers, drawings, and notes; and Cute Things Spotted in Seoul, a hand-drawn zine created with Wadfah, collecting small, charming, and unexpected moments spotted around Seoul during her stay with SUPERSONIC STUDIO.
Visitors will also be able to browse selected SUPERSONIC STUDIO publications, including artist collaboration zines, music-related publications, and experimental self-published works.
The session will explore:
• Korean independent music and creative communities
• How music and zine-making can connect
• Stories behind selected publications
• Building creative connections across cities and countries
Rather than a formal lecture, the event is designed as an opportunity for exchange, bringing together creative communities from Seoul and Bangkok through zines, music, and conversation.
Following the talk, participants are invited to join an open Q&A and networking session with local zine-makers, artists, readers, musicians, and anyone interested in independent publishing and creative culture.
Visitors are also welcome to bring a zine they have made, collected, or simply love and share it with others.
SUPERSONIC STUDIO hopes the event will become a warm meeting point between Seoul and Bangkok’s creative communities.
The event will be conducted in English.
