Tennis Lessons at Ascott Makati with Coach Edwin
A couple of hours after checking-in, we got the chance to have brief tennis lessons with Ascott Makati’s resident coach, Coach Edwin Costades. There are two reasons why we were so pumped for this: the fact that we did not know that there was a tennis court on their 6th floor and the fact that it was the first time for all of us to have tennis lessons!
Coach Edwin taught us the right form and how to properly swing the racket first
We learned how to do the right-wide forehand, right-wide backhand, forehand approach and other serving and receiving techniques in tennis.

Ascott Makati’s Cutting-Edge Fitness Gym and Swimming Pool
If you’re a health and fitness buff and simply want to run on a treadmill, swing some kettlebells, lift some weights or do some TRX, Ascott lets you do all of that in its state-of-the-art fitness facility located on the 6th floor just beside the tennis court. Open to both checked-in guests and walk-in guests who would like to apply for an annual membership, the gym has resident trainers ready to assist you. Luckily, we had an hour of session with their trainer who happily introduced us to some new exercises!
First, our BMI (Body Mass Index) was taken by one of Ascott’s fine trainers to determine the ideal workout regimen for us.

The area of the 25-meter outdoor swimming pool. One thing we noticed about their pool was it was SUPER CLEAR.
The Game Room
Aside from Ascott Makati’s “hidden” tennis court, fitness gym, yoga, and spa and steam room, guests can also let loose and have fun in the Game Room which offers darts, a chess set, a Wii console, and my favorite, good ol’ billiards!
