The Philippines is hosting the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games this year; but even before its official start, complaints and problems have already been pouring in.
On November 24, an international team complained about the treatment that they received upon arrival.
For the National Football Team of Thailand, they experienced delays in getting their IDs at the airport, as well as heavy traffic on their way to their accommodations. They had to cancel their training due to the delays, even though they will be facing Indonesia in the SEA Games’ first football match on November 25, 2019 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Myanmar also experienced the same thing.
According to reports, teams were cramped into small buses to transport them to and from their accommodations.
Aside from Thailand, Cambodia’s team was caught sleeping on the floor of the hotel based on a social media post.
Weeks before the arrival of the teams, the Head of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) Alan Peter Cayetano assured that they were ready for the games.
