Maine Mendoza raises more than P500,000 for employees affected by lockdown

With the COVID-19 virus affecting people’s jobs and income, many celebrities have started fundraising initiatives to help those financially struck by the pandemic. One of the many personalities that have taken part in this is actress, Maine Mendoza.

Last week, the Eat Bulaga host tweeted that she is hosting a DoNation drive for employees who are not allowed to work because of the community lockdown.

With this, Maine tweeted a couple of days ago that the drive has accumulated a total amount of ₱587,677.92 within 7 days. This donation drive is able to help 587 families who are all affected by the quarantine. It includes families of tricycle drivers, pedicab drivers, maintenance crews, and more.

In a blogpost, the actress thanks everyone who donated and writes, “I would not made it this far if not because of everyone’s help. But it does not stop here, I shall continue sending financial assistance to as many families as I can.”
