DC Super Heroes Cafe at SM Megamall was invaded by international actors Dante Basco (Hook, Avatar), Osric Chau (Supernatural), Yoshi Sudarso (Power Rangers Dino Charge), and Desmond Chiam (The Shannara Chronicles). The actors had a small meet & greet session at the DC Super Heroes Cafe to the delight of their Philippine fans.
The four actors, together with director Andrea A Walter, were in the country recently to film the independent film “Empty by Design“. Ms. Walter describes “Empty by Design“ as a melancholic film about a person’s disconnection towards one’s home and culture.
This event marked the second time we’ve seen Dante and Osric this year. Dante Basco is famous for his roles as Rufio from the film Hook and as the voice of Zuko in the Avatar animated series. He was at Toycon PH 2018 a few months back. Mr. Chau, known for his role in the Supernatural television series, was one of the featured guests at AsiaPOP Comicon 2018.
This was the first visit of Yoshi Sudarso and Desmond Chiam to the Philippines. Yoshi Sudarso is known for his stint as Koda/Blue Dino Charge Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Charge. He also appeared in the “Dead Man” music video of Dia Frampton.
Desmond Chiam is well known for his role in the Shannara Chronicles as General Riga. Mr. Chiam, in our brief chat, happens to be a wrestling fan and is a big fan of The Undertaker.
As a fan of the Power Rangers series, it was great to see Mr. Yoshi as he was the first Power Rangers cast member I got to meet in real life (so far). Thank you so much to the celebs for dropping by at the cafe for a very intimate meet & greet with their fans. Special thanks to the people over at the DC Super Heroes Cafe for being host to this somewhat spontaneous event. I sincerely hope that these guys will drop by the country again soon.
