Jasmine Curtis-Smith will be on an upcoming film Empty by Design. The actress will star alongside Hollywood actors Osric Chau, Dante Basco, and Chris Pang (from Crazy, Rich Asians).
According to reports, the movie is not your typical rom-com.
The movie’s writer-director, British-Filipino Andrea A. Walter, said that it will pay tribute to “third culture kids” like herself, as well as Chau who is Chinese-Canadian and Pang who is Australian-Taiwanese, and Curtis who is Filipino-Australian. A “third culture kid” is a person whose culture of upbringing is different from that of their parents’.
A photo of Jasmine was shared on the movie’s official Instagram page.
Very excited to announce that Empty by Design’s leading role will be played by @jascurtissmith! An award winning actress, known for her roles in “Transit”, “Bonifacio” and most recently “Siargao”. Jasmine was born in Australia before moving to the Philippines to start her career, she quickly became one of the Philippines’ most distinguished actresses, and our favorite indie darling 🙂
The cast and crew of the movie have been in the Philippines for almost a month. It is reported that the shooting of the film will be done by August 20.
Empty by Design will hit theaters in 2019.
