The Enhanced Community Quarantine can bring the hangry (hungry plus angry) side of many people, myself included. That’s because most, if not all malls are closed. The same goes for our favorite restaurants. Plus, we’re forced to stay at home with no idea how to satisfy our cravings.

While other delivery services are available, the demand from tons of other people outweighs the number of riders out on the street. So, what’s a hungry person got to do?

Book Angkas, of course. And no, I don’t mean for rides. For food.

And it’s called Angkas Food!

Just today, Angkas debuted their newest service on Facebook as a move to help their riders, and their hungry customers amid the ongoing quarantine. And catch this— all the money goes to the Angkas Bikers. That’s right: Angkas won’t be getting any commissions from this project.

How it Works

Craving something? Choose from this list of restaurants that are partnered with Angkas. Give them a call and order your food and an Angkas biker will deliver the food to you. They also add that there’s no need to book from the app yourself.

Next up is paying the restaurant. If you can go cashless, like transfer through the bank, better. That way, kuya won’t need to shell out cash on your behalf. Remember to leave your contact details with the restaurant!

And kuya is on his way! For the final step, give him the payment (Cash on Delivery, if applicable, and the delivery fee), then take the order and done! Easy as that.

The delivery fee starts out as P60 for 3 kilometers and you pay P10 for every extra kilometer, up to 5 kilometers only. And if you live in a condo or building, your food will be dropped off in the lobby. Again, 100% of the delivery fee goes to the rider!

Given the whole social distancing thing, Angkas will be implementing a no-contact policy. When the Angkas Biker arrives, they’ll put your order on their motorcycle seat or doorstep. Then, they’ll back away from a safe distance so you can get your food. And by the way, delivery hours as from 10 AM  to 5:30 PM only.
