Intramuros, Manila is among the nominees for the “World’s Leading Tourist Attraction” title at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2024.

On Facebook, the Intramuros Administration urged the public to vote for Intramuros in the said category: “Let’s win it for Intramuros. Let’s win it for the Philippines!”
To vote, one must go to their website and register to create an account. Once you’ve clicked the confirmation email and your account is now verified, find the “region” and select “WORLD.” From the list of categories shown, choose “World’s Leading Attraction 2024” and vote for Intramuros, Philippines.
This year, the historic Walled City is competing against popular landmarks such as Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, India’s Taj Mahal, Peru’s Machu Picchu, and the USA’s Grand Canyon National Park, among others.
Apart from this nomination, the Philippines has also been recognized in other categories, including the World’s Leading Beach Destination, the World’s Leading City Destination, and the World’s Leading Island Destination.
Intramuros was previously recognized as the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction in 2020, as well as Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction in 2016, 2020, and 2022.
The deadline for voting is on October 20. Meanwhile, the Grand Final Gala Ceremony will be on November 24 in Madeira, Portugal.
