#RP612fic is an annual tradition on Twitter during the country’s commemoration of Independence Day. The hashtag stands for “Republic of the Philippines June 12 Fiction,” which is shared all over Twitter and other social media platforms as we look back on historical events and personalities using the context of the 21st century.
In a way, this thread is the collision of pop culture and Philippine history.
The thread started in 2009, all thanks to Paolo Chikiamco, editor of RocketKapre.com.
