The National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – National Capital Region (NFJPIA-NCR) proudly celebrated the successful conclusion of the 20th Charlwin Lee Cup, revered as the “Cup of All Cups,” held last June 3, 2025, at KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co. With the evocative theme, “The Divine Call of Bathala: Legacy of Excellence and Bravery,” this year’s competition marked a momentous milestone in NFJPIA-NCR’s history. Jointly hosted by the University of Santo Tomas – JPIA and the University of the Philippines – JPIA, the event brought together fifty-five (55) of the region’s most promising accountancy students in a day of spirited academic competition, camaraderie, and professional growth.
Now in its 20th year, the Charlwin Lee Cup continued to honor the legacy of Mr. Charlwin “Aljon” Pua Lee, the founding president of NFJPIA-NCR. His enduring vision of a dynamic, united, and academically driven federation was once again vividly realized as participants answered the call to showcase their knowledge, resilience, and leadership. Throughout the event, participants faced a comprehensive series of academic challenges encompassing Financial Accounting and Reporting, Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting, Auditing, Taxation, Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions, and Management Advisory Services. These rigorous examinations tested not only their technical expertise but also their analytical thinking, time management, and composure under pressure.
KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co., one of the country’s premier accounting firms, served as the prestigious venue for this landmark competition, reflecting the industry’s steadfast support for academic initiatives and the professional development of future CPAs. This year’s theme paid homage to Filipino culture and divine inspiration, urging students to embrace bravery, wisdom, and inner strength in pursuit of academic and personal growth. It was more than a competition — it was a celebration of character, resilience, and the commitment to excellence in the accountancy profession.
As NFJPIA-NCR commemorated two decades of this distinguished event, the 20th Charlwin Lee Cup stood as a beacon of inspiration and a testament to the bright future of Philippine accountancy. Together, we answered the Divine Call of Bathala — upholding a legacy of excellence and bravery for generations to come.
