Congratulations! Lea Salonga is now the first Filipino to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In an Instagram story, Lea announced the good news about an article published by Billboard.

“Just now woke up to this bit of amazing news!” she wrote. “To the Manila International Film Festival, many thanks for nominating me to be part of the class of 2025-26!”
According to the article, the multi-award-winning singer and actress will earn a star in 2026 in California alongside Miley Cyrus, Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, and British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, among others.
Following this remarkable achievement, the Manila Film Festival proudly announced this career feat in a social media post.
“From Broadway to Disney to the global concert stage, Lea has been a trailblazer and a voice for generations. Her impact on the world of music, theater, and film is undeniable — and her legacy continues to open doors for countless Filipino and Asian artists worldwide,” the post read.
“This recognition is not just for her extraordinary talent, but for everything she represents: excellence, integrity, and cultural pride,” it added. “Congratulations and BRAVO, Lea — this moment is so well-deserved, and we are beyond thrilled to celebrate YOU!”
Lea Salonga rose to international stardom by playing the lead role of Kim in the Broadway productions of Miss Saigon and by providing the singing voices of Jasmine and Mulan.
She is also set to join the highly anticipated Philippine production of Into the Woods, where she’ll take on the role of “The Witch.”
