Despite the rain, the Broadway star joyfully sang a rendition of “Sing” alongside the show’s well-loved characters, including Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, and Abby Cadabby, among others.
Lea shared photos from the adorable performance, calling it a “wonderful highlight” of the event.
“No, it wasn’t a sunny day, and it would’ve been great if the clouds were swept away, but today’s @macys Thanksgiving Day Parade was still such a wonderful highlight!” she wrote.

She also expressed gratitude to “Sesame Street” for making her part of the show’s float and bringing joy to her daughter, Nicole.
“Thank you, @sesamestreet, this was truly very special, and thank you for plastering the biggest smile on my child’s face. Nic will not be able to erase that smile for a while!”
Lea previously performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1991 and 2017. She also appeared in “Sesame Street” back in 1993, where she sang “A Little Bit” to Big Bird, Alfred Duck, and the Birdketeers.
