Are you a student gamer? Well, you can now get a college scholarship for gaming.

Globe Telecom and esports organization Esports AcadArena teamed up for what they claim is the country’s first esports scholarship. Announcing the good news last Sunday, the group will be offering the scholarship to exceptional college gamer and student esport community leaders.

For eligible college students, the scholarship will cover 25% to 100% of their tuition fees. There are two kinds of scholarships offered. The first is a Competitive Merit scholarship, which is for active players who show good character and performance, while the second is the Leadership Merit scholarship. The latter is for those who have contributed to the growth of campus esports.

Aside from these aforementioned scholarships, there is also a “Family Good Game Grant,” wherein PHP 25,000 to PHP 50,000 will be provided to the family of gamers who is participating in eligible AcadArena tournaments. And yes, this grant is applicable to all AcadArena partner student organizations.

In order to be eligible, you need to come from a “3-star accredited” AcadArena partner student organization. To apply for accreditation, Esports student organizations can visit the website. By becoming accredited, these student gamers can have access to “monthly tournament support, exclusive league access, industry support, scholarships, and more.”
