Gerald Anderson shared his side of the story regarding his breakup with longtime girlfriend Julia Barretto and third-party rumors with professional volleyball player Vanie Gandler.

In a vlog uploaded on September 22, entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz revealed that Gerald called him to clarify things about their breakup.
“Sinabi pa ni Gerald na iba ang dahilan, at inako rin niya na siya ang may kasalanan ng breakup nila ni Julia pero hindi na ito idinetalye pa ni Gerald (Gerald also said that the reason was different and admitted that he was to blame for his breakup with Julia, but he did not go into further detail),” Ogie said.
The veteran reporter also relayed that Vangie is not involved in their breakup.
“Una na dyan ay ang kanyang paglilinaw na hindi si Vanie Gandler ang dahilan [ng breakup]. Matagal na raw itong Vanie Gandler issue pero ito’y wala raw katotohanan talaga (First, he clarified that Vanie Gandler was not the reason for the breakup. Gerald said that the Vanie Gandler issue had been around for a while, but there was absolutely no truth to it),” he shared.
“Ni hindi nga niya raw ito kilala ng personal o nakakausap o nakaka-text, nakakatawagan, wala. Nanonood lamang raw siya ng laro ng volleyball, pero hindi naman para tutukang panuorin si Vanie. The 36-year-old actor even revealed that he was deeply affected by the backlash against him due to the breakup.
“Pag-amin pa ni Gerald, durog na durog na siya sa mga naglalabasang bashing sa kanya. Kaya sana raw ay matigil na ang issue (Gerald also admitted that he feels completely crushed by all the bashing directed at him. He hopes that the issue will finally come to an end),” the talent manager said.
On September 18, Star Magic and Viva Artists Agency (VAA) have confirmed that the longtime celebrity couple have broken up.
