On October 13, an important event took place in Manila, signaling a significant development for the Chilean pork industry. Since 2022, the importation of Chilean pork has been launched. The event was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, gathering representatives from Chilean pork exporting companies, prominent figures in the Philippine Food industry, and government officials.

Starting at 11:00 AM, the event showcased Chilean culture and its pork products. The program featured Chilean imagery and the use of Chilean music to set the atmosphere.
The Chilean Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Ambassador Álvaro Jara, highlighted the strong trade relations between Chile and the Philippines and expressed the commitment to further enhance these ties. Following this, Mr. Juan Carlos Domínguez, President of ChileCarne, discussed Chile’s key attributes and its production system, which contributes to the high quality of Chilean pork.

The event’s highlight was a cooking presentation by the resident Chef of the Grand Hyatt, Mark Hagan. Chef Hagan prepared three Filipino recipes, with a twist – they featured Chilean pork. This showcased the versatility and quality of Chilean pork. Following the presentation, attendees had the opportunity to taste the dishes prepared by Chef Hagan.
The event provided a platform for productive interactions between attendees and the Chilean companies, helping to strengthen relationships. ChilePork emphasized the three pillars of their product’s competitive advantage: biosecurity, food safety, and sustainability.
