A meaningful celebration of movement, inclusion, and community is set to take place as Kidlat Dance Studio’s Kommunity Outreach Day unfolds on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Backyard Warehouse Studios in Tandang Sora, Quezon City. The event is for the benefit of learners with Autism and other developmental disabilities from The Heart at Play Foundation (THP).
As a pioneering disability-inclusive dance hub, Kidlat Dance Studio continues to champion a safe and empowering space for both the youth and the adult community. Founded by sisters Therese and Patricia Rivera, Kidlat Dance Studio fosters creativity and inclusivity through a structured street dance curriculum, community events, K-pop classes, commercial choreography, studio rentals, and dance therapy for learners with special needs.
The highlight of Kommunity Outreach Day is a free educational dance therapy session designed specifically for learners with developmental disabilities. This initiative aims to provide participants with an enriching and expressive outlet that supports behavioral, physical, educational, and socio-emotional development. The event will also feature special dance performances from Kidlat Varsity, supporting fan clubs such as NCT DREAM PH and All for SKZ PH, and volunteer content creators.
The outreach will benefit The Heart at Play Foundation (THP), an SEC-registered nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children with special needs from economically marginalized families in Manila. The foundation caters to learners with Autism, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other social needs, ranging from mild to profound conditions. THP offers programs that nurture their growth and well-being.
Through this collaboration, organizers hope to raise awareness and encourage more individuals and groups to become advocates for inclusion.
The public is warmly invited to be part of Kommunity Outreach Day, whether by attending, volunteering, or providing monetary support to help cover the cost of free therapy for the beneficiaries. Every peso, every person makes a difference.
Individuals and organizations who wish to extend their support may contribute through donations, sponsorships, or in-kind support for the beneficiaries. Donations will help sponsor ongoing movement therapy sessions and auxiliary intervention services for the learners and parent-guardians of The Heart at Play Foundation.
