Reboots are all the rage right now. In fact, Tori Spelling just recently announced that ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ reboot has officially been confirmed. (Watch her interview about that here.) However, there are some series that simply should not be touched or are simply still too fresh in people’s minds and hearts to even consider getting a reboot. That’s how I felt about ‘Charmed’, and that’s exactly how I feel about the discussions on a ‘Gossip Girl’ reboot.
CW President Mark Pedowitz has shared that there has been a discussion for a reboot of the show, and the Internet has already gone wild with excitement. However, nothing has actually been confirmed yet, and Pedowitz has admitted that he doesn’t know what it would be should it actually happen. Apparently, a lot would be up to Warner Bros and the executive producers.
The big question is, though: do we really need a ‘Gossip Girl’ reboot? The show can still be streamed on Netflix, and we’re more than happy to see the characters of the original show doing other projects. That side, the show was pretty perfect as it was. Don’t you agree?
