Blonde Blue-Eyed Man Had 10 Surgeries To Look Asian
Years ago, when I used to tech ESL to Koreans, my students would tell me how they (Koreans) were so addicted to having double eye-lid surgery (blepharoplasty) just to have bigger eyes. Whenever I asked my students why they wanted to have bigger eyes, they would all say it’s because big eyes looked more beautiful and more “Western.” Hmmmmm….
Pretty much like for us Filipinos, most of us have this obsession in having fairer/whiter complexion. No wonder we have a high demand for whitening soaps, lotions and even Glutathione injections/oral meds. Seems like everybody wants to look whiter for the simple reason that most of us think we’d look more appealing or beautiful if we had fairer skin. We never seem to be contented and always consider whatever is opposite as the one looking more beautiful.
I’ve heard about countless stories of Asians wanting to look “Western” (like fellow Pinoy Herbert Chavez from Laguna who underwent 19 surgeries over 16 years to look like Clark Kent) before, but in this case, it’s my 1st ever time (maybe yours as well) to hear about a blonde blue-eyed man who went under the knife many times only to look Asian.
In a feature by Huffingtonpost.com, a 25-year-old Brazilian man named Xiahn (not his real name) has undergone 10 surgical procedures on his eyes to make him appear more Asian.
Xiahn told the South Korea Herald he became inspired to have the surgery after spending time in Korea as an exchange student. Xiahn used to be blue-eyed and blonde but now, he dyes his hair and wears contact lenses to enhance his new look.

What do you think about Xiahn’s new “Asian” look?
