If you ask LGBTQIA+ Filipinos for their definitions of “comfort media,” there’s a high chance that most of them will cite their favorite queer shows and films from Thailand. And honestly, we can’t blame them.
For decades, Thai artists, creatives, and advocates have been major contributors to the growing landscape of international queer media. Boys’ love (BL) and girls’ love (GL) fandoms in the Philippines, for instance, are going places nowadays thanks to these fictional love stories, and it won’t be long until the hype fully transcends the four corners of our screens. Some could even argue that it’s happening before our eyes, in real time, as Thailand’s prominent sapphic shows capture more and more Filipinos’ hearts by the minute.

Like all the queer movies and shows that’ve shaped us, Thai GL stories go beyond serotonin boosts and kilig overloads that make every viewer wonder, “Lord, when?” Besides their vibrant portrayals of romantic tropes we know by heart, these fictional doses of romance harbor thorough reflections of the LGBTQIA+ community’s identities, voices, and persistent struggles that often hinder them from loving and living freely. That’s why fans can’t help but grow attached to the characters they meet onscreen, finding pieces of themselves in every lovesick confession and swoon-worthy interaction with the women they fancy.
Even Pinoy pop (P-pop) girl group VVINK joined the hype last March with “Kailan Ka Aamin?”, a single greatly inspired by one of Thailand’s most in-demand GL pairs.
Whether you want to unleash your inner yearner or “find your tribe” through new fandoms, it’s never too late to pick up a Thai GL series and binge-watch it to your heart’s content. And if you don’t know where to start, these seven titles have you covered.
23.5 (2024)
23.5 has all the makings of a wholesome Thai GL series anchored on coming-of-age musings and lifelong dreams. It follows Ongsa (Milk Pansa), an awkward student who falls head over heels for the outgoing Sun (Love Pattranite) and approaches her under the pseudonym “Earth.” As their relationship deepens, so do their outlooks on the future and the growing pains they navigate every day.
Queendom (2025)
Even the limelight’s colossal pressures are no match for Rey (Houng) and Print (Pam Tarradee), two longtime rivals who endure the most Freaky Friday-esque plot twist of their lives in Queendom. As they gear up for their lead roles in a much-awaited series, the unthinkable happens—they switch souls, now forced to grapple with the insufferable fate of living in one another’s shoes.
Us (2025)
Heartfelt conversations and tender human connections are at the heart of Us, commonly known as Us: The Series. Dokrak (Bonnie Pattraphus) secretly yearns for her brother’s girlfriend, Pam (Emi Thasorn). But uncertainty soon sets in when he and Pam break up, prompting Dokrak to clear the air and confront her true feelings before they go haywire.
Love Design (2025)
Realistically speaking, the chances of crossing paths with our exes at work are next to nothing. But when the time actually comes, it’s a fate worse than death—an ordeal that Aokbab (Kao Supassara) and Rin (Janeyeh) of Love Design know all too well. When the two lovers-turned-rival architects get caught in a crossfire of betrayal and professional obstacles, they must put their complex feelings aside to overcome their dilemmas and everyday mishaps at work.
The Secret of Us (2024)
Love makes second chances a little sweeter in The Secret of Us, a book-to-screen adaptation that took the Thai GL community by storm. The show follows Fahlada (Lingling Kwong), a doctor who still clings to the memories she shared with her ex-girlfriend, Earn (Orm Korrnaphat). The pair’s reunion allows them to mend old wounds, grow from their mistakes, and keep their hearts open to starting over again.
ClaireBell (2025)
ClaireBell tells the story of an unlikely relationship that’ll tug at your heartstrings without fail. As Bell (Pangjie Paphavarin) serves time in prison, her mysterious inmate Claire (Mable Siriwalee) offers to ease her worries amid their fight for survival. What unfolds is a precious connection that comforts them as they weather life’s storms.
Enemies With Benefits (2026)
In Enemies With Benefits, wild nights can unearth even wilder revelations. Lal (Janhae), Head of Sales, is adamant about outshining Wine (JingJing Yu), Head of Accounting, and her polar opposite at work. But one night turns their lives upside down, resulting in a friends-with-benefits dynamic that the two supposed nemeses strive to keep under wraps.
