15 Viral Filipinos That Really Set Pinoy Meme Culture Apart

7. Luggage Salesman

Talk about giving 110% at your job! Remember this luggage salesman who looked like he put everything he had into a pretty impressive product demonstration? His sales pitch was complete with jumping, splits, and multiple slaps to the item. No one could possibly doubt the durability of the luggage after that show.

6. Biiiiimb!

Let’s face it, almost anything Kris Aquino says or does could become a meme (and we mean that in the best way possible). But the most enduring has to be her ever-famous line calling to her son and going: “Biiiimb!”. There is no real reason for the line’s popularity, except maybe that its become one of Kris’ signature -isms.

5. Sampaguita Girl

We Filipinos seem to get very excited at finding attractive individuals in mundane places — like Veronica Radillas, popularly known as the Sampaguita Girl. This young woman was discovered while selling flowers in Quiapo for being strikingly pretty. The internet quickly hyped her up as they became charmed by her and she would even get ‘fans’ asking for selfies and encouraging her to pursue a celebrity career.

4. Gwapong Kundoktor

Other countries might have the sexiest doctor or hottest math teacher but here in the Philippines, we have our very own gwapong kundoktor. Reynaldo Pichay was one of the hottest topics this year when some photos of himself started to surface on the internet. He was immediately noticed for his certain charms by a passenger on the bus who decided to document him, and it seems a lot of people would agree with that.

3. Wala na, Finish na

Another video from way back in 2015, though only recently viral last 2018, gave us one of the most relatable lines we could use. When 25-year-old Bethoven Delmar Jr was arrested for attempted rape and said the line “Wala na, finish na” — we felt that. Although the story behind the clip is actually unfortunate, as Delmar admitted to being under the influence of alcohol and drugs when attempting to rape a woman. He was only thankful since “Swerte pa ‘ko kasi hindi pa si Duterte ‘yang nakaupo. Eh kung si Duterte, wala na finish na.”

2. Dalagang Pilipina

A meme that went so viral it also became a challenge, inciting countless netizens and celebrities to post their own take. Originally started by Mimi (@mimiyuuh on Instagram), the Dalagang Pilipina challenge has you exaggeratedly dancing to Pinoy rap group ‘Allmo$t’s’ song ‘Dalaga’.

1. You Do Note Girl

Marjorie, better known as “You do note” girl, is the 9-year-old behind the viral “Kadenang Ginto” impressions channel. Her passionate reenactments of different scenes from the teleserye won people over, earning her thousands of fans. But she really shot to fame with the recent clip of her reciting the phrase “you do note” repeatedly.
