Battle of Right and Wrong: Taxi Driver Without Change VS. Student with 500 Peso Bill

Heated arguments when riding public transportation in the Philippines is not a rare occurrence. With traffic here and there, rude drivers, and abusive traffic enforcers, riding on public transportation can be difficult for those take a daily commute to and from work or school, which can result to exchange of mean words or in worse cases, physical violence.

Recently, a netizen posted his experience while riding a taxi one morning to school.

From his post:

I was late for my Final Exam in Ateneo because of this guy from RED ANGELO taxi. I’ve been calling the company but no one is answering.

He didn’t have change for my 500 so we had to go to the nearest gas station (petron jupiter) to break my 500. In Petron he took his fare and didn’t take me back to Ateneo, he left me there.

Kindly share, I want to make sure that the only thing he’ll be driving for the rest of his life is a pedicab. I want his license suspended.

Maraming Salamat Po!

Along with this, he also posted a video of their conversation. Watch it below.

He also posted a photo where the details of the taxi can be found.

After seeing the video, what do you think?

Who is at fault and who is right?

Should the driver have loose change all the time or should the passenger mention that he has whole bills before riding?

What can be done to avoid incidents like this from happening?
