This Taxi Driver Threatened to Hit Passengers with Pipe

This Taxi Driver Used a Pipe to Threaten Passengers

Taxi drivers are usually passive aggressive. Right before you get in, they ask you where you want to be driven (with the doors locked and the window rolled down) and if they don’t like it, they simply drive away without saying no. But a post going around Facebook is showing that taxi drivers can be really aggressive and can resort to physical violence.

According to Jamelle C:

He insisted that we pay P100 for a less than 7-minute ride. It was the dead of the night; he said cab drivers would not run with meters on anymore. What was displayed on his meter: a staggering P6244.00.

When they refused to pay the fee and asked to be let down, the driver did not let up. When Jamelle said that she works in media, he stopped the car and talked out loud.

We got off the car and walked away to hail another cab — only to be followed by the nagging driver who also got off his car with a wooden or metal pipe and threatened to hit us.

It was a good thing that there were security guards around MOA who asked the driver to leave. Jamelle tried to contact LTFRB to report the incident, but they didn’t get anyone on the line and there was no response on social media. Jamelle added:

Beware of this. TXM 731. A big cab painted red and yellow. A cab with a foul smell and a driver who turns really violent.

Now this is scary. Maybe we’d rather have the taxi driver who just speeds off after finding out where we want to be driven.
