Apparently, Filipinos Are More Interested in Metaverse Than the Rest of the World – Study

In October 2021, Mark Zuckerberg rebranded his Facebook company to “Meta”. This was in hopes of reflecting a shift in focus towards the Metaverse—an immersive virtual world made possible by virtual reality.

Is Metaverse the future? While tech investors are yet to be convinced by the idea, Coin Kickoff created a study on how people around the world feel about it.

The crypto website analyzed 1.6 million tweets and 19 of the most popular metaverses, and found out that Filipinos are the “world’s most interested people in Metaverse.” This is according to the study where they ascertained Google search volumes for Metaverse-related keywords in 192 countries, including visual comparisons of Metaverse worlds (e.g., Decentraland) to real-life places.

01 Which Countries Are Most Interested In The Metaverse

It revealed that out of the people from 193 countries who Googled metaverse-related terms, Filipino people have the highest number of searches with 2,421 per 1,000 people in the country. Additionally, we are the second-most positive country about the Metaverse (next to Vietnam) with a 56.2% rating of Twitter posts about it containing positive messaging.

03 The Countries That Most Love and Hate Metaverses

In line with this, Coin Kickoff noted an earlier survey that reveals that Filipino business professionals are ready to embrace the metaverse. Moreover, another report shows that a startup community in the country is shaping up to be one of the continent’s leaders in the space!

Lastly, they also recalled that the Philippines hosted Asia’s largest metaverse conference in May 2022.
